We have multiple skills in management,information technology, accounting and project scheduling which has allowed me to advance business intelligence efforts to maximize strategic effectiveness. My most innovative accomplishments to date have been using a company's existing tools and systems, or the development of sources and means necessary to make a team smarter in their decision mechanics and processes. Here are a few of the improvements that we have implemented:
- Using expert Excel skills and VBA, I applied a screen “Scraping” technology which allowed Accounting to automatically get data from their system and put it into Excel workbooks. This saved significant time for the department and improved analysis efficiency.
- Improved a “new” pricing proposal process by a factor of 400 (10 hours improved to 90 seconds).
- Mentored Engineers on developing a tool to provide them and Accounting with budget forecasts and headcount charting. We used Excel / VBA / SQL and other tools.
- Shortened a pricing process from 34 steps to 1 step for their entire team.
- After a 4-day lean event, the entire Pricing team called upon me to improve a proposal process with a highly complex Excel workbook using multiple databases. This allowed the Pricing team to continue producing government proposals in an acceptable format and FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) requirements.
- The IT (Information Technology) team typically sent people to me for MS Office answers, especially Excel and VBA.
- I rebuilt the companies Earned Value Manage System (EVMS) to turn a three 12 hour day effort down to one 10 hour day.
